They represent safe spaces where women can freely express themselves, share emotions, thoughts and experiences, protected by anonymity. Despite the pandemic and physical limitations connected, the need for emancipation and the urge to fight isolation has overcome have prevailed. Thanks to technology, female lyric poems are now online.

“Although in Afghanistan the relationship between women and poetry has always been deep and strong, sharing poetry online is a fundamental act of revelation for women in the borderless cyberspace” says Farzaneh Milani, Chair of the Department of Middle Eastern and South Asian Languages and Cultures.
